Meet the
attorneys.
David joined our general practice in 2012 and became a partner in 2022. In the years since, he's quietly become the attorney Merrimack Valley families turn to when something important — a closing, a custody question, a parent's estate — needs to be handled right the first time.
A graduate of Suffolk University Law School, David previously worked as an associate in a mid-sized Boston law firm, practicing in the area of civil litigation and insurance defense with a focus on toxic tort and complex products liability litigation. That background — the discipline of big-firm work, applied to the matters that matter to the people in front of him — defines how he practices today.
Outside the office, David spends his time with his wife and four children, on a youth sports field somewhere, or pitching in for the community organizations that have made the valley feel like home.

Joseph C. Clermont founded Clermont Law Office in 1986, four years after he was admitted to the Massachusetts bar. From a single office in the Merrimack Valley, he built a general practice the way he believed law should be practiced — one client at a time, with patience, plain talk, and his name on the door.
Over nearly four decades, Joseph has handled thousands of matters for Merrimack Valley families and small businesses. His work spans family law, personal injury, criminal defense, real estate, and business matters — the full range of what a neighborhood lawyer is called on to do. Many of those clients have come back across the years, and many have sent their children to him when they needed counsel of their own.
Joe is trying his best to spend more time on the pickleball court these days, but you can still find him in the office a few days a week. He's handed the day-to-day to his son David and focuses now on long-standing client matters. The rest of his time goes to his wife, his grandchildren, and the community organizations he's served for decades.
